Help
WallAwake shows one web page you choose, for example your Home Assistant dashboard, full-screen on your tablet without a browser bar. The screen switches on and off according to your own weekly schedule, and can show your own photos as a photo frame in between.
Getting started
- Open WallAwake. The first time, it opens the settings, because no start address is saved yet.
- In the Dashboard panel, enter the address of your dashboard in Start URL.
- Tap Save settings. WallAwake opens the page full-screen.
To get back to the settings later, open the WallAwake menu and tap Open settings. The ways to open the menu are described under Controls.
The settings panels
The settings are divided into five panels, each with its own help page.
- DashboardThe address of your dashboard, staying on its site, and the stored data of the website.
- Screen & scheduleThe weekly screen schedule, switching the screen on by hand, keeping it on, and the access the schedule needs.
- Photo frameYour own photos after a while without touching the screen, with clock and date.
- ControlsHow you open the WallAwake menu: a swipe, a handle or a long press.
- Device & securityReopening after a restart, a PIN, the Home screen, diagnostics and About.
Saving your changes
Changes are saved when you tap Save settings. Some actions are saved immediately: setting, changing or removing the PIN; Clear website data; adding, deleting or selecting photos in Manage photos; and dragging the menu handle to a new position.
